Jacob Wright Obituary: Jacob Wright, the head varsity football coach at Will C. Wood High School, died on Saturday morning after suffering a medical emergency, according to the Vacaville Unified School District.
A candlelight vigil was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Will C. Wood’s football field, located at 998 Marshall Road in Vacaville.
Wright took over as head coach of Will C. Wood in 2021 and graduated from high school in 1995, formerly playing centre and middle linebacker for the Wildcats.
He was named the Vacaville Unified School District Teacher of the Year for the 2017-18 school year.
Wright has also coached at Contra Costa College, El Cerrito High School and San Lorenzo High School.
